Geoffery Chaucer was an english poet. He was born in London around 1343. Nobody knows the exact place of where in London he was born.In 1359 he went to the was in France. He was taken prisioner during the war. King Edward III paid his ransom and also granted him a pension for everything he had did and was going to in the future.In 1367 he has a son and names him, Thomas. In 1368 he became one of the king's esquires. He wrote The Book of the Duchesse when the duchesse Blanche died. Chaucer started running errands for the king in France. In 1370 he accompanies John of Gaunt in Aquitaine. In 1380 he had another son and named him, Lewis. Than he recieved a gift of 22 pounds from Ricard II. He was made a Justice of The Peace in Kent in 1385. Caucer had been robbed in 1390 by highway men loseing a large amount of the king's money. Around 1395 his son thomas marries, Chaucer also recieves an anuitity of twenty pounds and his last one being enough wine for a year. FROM PROLOGUE: The Knight- He is very brave and honored. He fought fifteen battles and was very wise. He was very truthful and courtesy.
The Squire- This is the knight's son. He is very young. He loves to dancing and courting. His hair was well curled. He could also write and sketch.
The Prioress- She was a nun who knew french. She spoke it fluently. She was very well mannered and never ate her food messy.
FROM THE PARDONER'S TALE:
Death- He kills a lot of people around the way. They tell everyone to beware because if you see him he will kill you. He has no feelings so he will kill anyone then be on his way.
The Old Man- He is very old and poor. He has made it through many journies. He won't let death take his life and is waiting to go into his mother's gate. He gives the three men wise advise.
The Three Men- They see that there is a funeral going on and ask what has happened, they are then told that death has taken the person's life. They go on a journey to kill death. On the way they meet with an old man who tells them no one will take his life. They also find gold but all being so greedy they end up killing each other.
FROM THE WIFE OF BATH:
The Knight- He is a very lusty knight. He comes along a young women and his lust takes over when he rapes her. He was sent to be put to death but than is offered to become rescued by giving the right answer. He has to answer the question of what women desire most.
The Queen- She decided she would give the knight a chance to live. She let him have a year and a day to try and find the answer to her question. Once her gave her the right answer, she let him go on his way and live his life.
The Old Lady- She was the one who gave the knight the answer he needed to spare his life. Once she made a deal that he would promise to give her anything if the answer was right. Since it was she asked him to marry her, she soon turned beautiful and they lived happily together.
Summary Of The Canterbury Tales
It has many wise tales within the stories.
It is about the times when the pilgrims were around.
It has many different characters in it.
Most of the stories have a moral or point to them.
They are very interesting to read about.
The tales give you an idea of how things went back then.
They were created by a group who was traveling.
They would usually tell these stories on their way.
Most of them the actually got from traveling.
Some of them can be cruel and straight to the point.

and once i get my diploma ill finally win.

thinking of all the hassle.
Even though i am now done,
my life has just begun.
I have a lot of ambition,
